Congratulations to all the archers who came along to Mountain Green on Saturday 17 December for the Youth Team Tournament and fun Christmas Shoot. There were eight teams from around the Auckland region. Everyone dressed up and had a great time – much appreciated to all the helpers from Mountain Green who helped make the morning successful, and thanks to the weather for clearing up just in time!
We had twelve fun targets set up, including a zombie pizza guy, aliens, dinosaurs, a bugs eye which you had to shoot at while standing on a stepladder, a target at 45m, a heart, a snowman, and everyone’s favourite – water balloons!
Spot prizes were given to all archers who shot 45m for the first time.
Spot prizes were given to the archers who wore flashing christmas lights (I’m looking at you, Cupid’s Arrows and Shooting Stars).
The Best Costume prize went to the Fabulous Rainbow Unicorns.
The Best team name prize went to the “Na fearann coillteach boghadair” team which even they could not pronounce and so were referred to as “NFCB” for the tournament.

First – Cupid’s Arrows = 436
Second – Fabulous Rainbow Unicorns = 354
Third – Sagittarii = 269
Shooting Stars = 262
NFCB = 224
Deadeye = 183
Yuletide Sharks = 68
Sith Lords = 59
